Competition among the major technology manufacturers never ceases. Innovation on electric vehicles is booming, but more and more prototypes are being unveiled exceeding what any mortal could imagine.
On this occasion, the British company SAIC Design presented a new sketch representing a fusion between a car and a motorcycle. Yes, it sounds crazy!
It is named RYZR which, according to the firm, represents the “ultimate symbiosis of man and machine”, as it is a vehicle that gives an experience far beyond sitting and driving.

Based on what can be witnessed from the SAIC Design reveal, the model will have the ability to lean into curves, similar to the 1990s Carver One. The suspension and steering components are on hinges that can support the chassis towards the apex, like a motorcyclist. The tires are also curved like those of a bicycle to take advantage of this feature.
Unthinkable Features
The styling of the RYZR is a mix of an open-wheel racer and a sport bike. The front tires and delicate steering components are straight out of Formula One, while the rear end upward looks like an upgraded version of a superbike, albeit with an additional stabilizer fin.
Like most recent concepts, the model was designed as an electric vehicle, as suggested by the rear body-mounted charging port. However, SAIC Design has not yet disclosed the size of the vehicle’s battery packs or the power output of the electric motor.
The company notes that the sketch recognizes the changing ways in which people move. Post-pandemic, public transportation has declined considerably in favor of individualized mobility, and this small style car could help keep the streets from getting crowded.
The Future of Mobility
Carl Gotham, Director of Advanced Design at SAIC Design said the RYZR is an exciting and visceral vision of the future for urban travel. “By exploring the unconventional, it unlocks new modes of transport for the future, new experiences and new thrills,” he noted.
The London-based company designs for MG Roewe and the Chinese company’s newly formed electric brand, R. The studio opened back in September 2018 and has produced several striking concepts since, such as the MG Cyberster and an art car based on the MG ZS.GF.
