Renowned as a forward-thinking pioneer, Extreme E’s CEO Alejandro Agag, has been instrumental in shaping two major categories of electric motorsport: Formula E and Extreme E.

Recognized as a Motorsport Hero by Autocar years ago for his significant impact on the sport, Agag spoke to As newspaper about the evolution and impact of Extreme E’s inaugural season, foreseeing even greater things to come.

“It’s been even better than anticipated. I believe this will exceed our initial expectations. While the breathtaking landscapes captured on camera haven’t disappointed, I foresee an even grander future,” he remarked at the time.

The Triumph of Extreme E

Emulating the Formula E model, this electric off-road series has attracted some of the biggest names in motorsports, fueling its growth and surpassing Agag’s projections.

“It’s truly impressive to have such esteemed names on board. We’ve been fortunate beyond expectation. I frequently seek advice from drivers like Sainz and Loeb; their enthusiasm is contagious. I firmly believe in the championship’s success, largely due to the drivers’ commitment,” he noted.

Agag also hinted at potential surprises in the future, with the prospect of additional teams joining the electric series, potentially expanding the grid to 12 teams. Notably, McLaren Racing confirmed their participation in the second season of Extreme E, further elevating the series’ prestige.
