Airspeeder, the world’s first flying electric vehicle racing series, announced the United Nations Sustainability in Sport Pledge.

In keeping with the philosophy of the pioneering series in developing clean air mobility technologies, the rubric represents a commitment to the advancement of green technology and the key spirit of Sports for Climate Action and combating climate change, through commitments and associations according to verified standards.

“Airspeeder exists at the confluence of next-generation sport and cutting-edge technology,” said Matthew Pearson, Founder, Airspeeder and Alauda.

“By racing we hasten the arrival of a clean-air mobility revolution that will transform urban passenger transport, global logistics and even remote medical applications. We are a sport conceived amidst the urgent global need to dramatically reduce impact.

“This is perfectly aligned with the intentions of the United Nations sustainability in sport pledge. We are proud to stand with the leading sporting entities on the planet to acknowledge our collective responsibility to play a leadership role in the global fight against climate change,” added.

By signing the pledge, Airspeeder joins other leading names in world sport to commit to a long-term sustainable future, including the New York Yankees, the International Olympic Committee, the FIA, Formula E and Extreme E.

All of these participants in the Sports for Climate Action Framework will commit to five key principles: Undertake systematic efforts to promote accountability; reduce overall climate impact, educate for climate action, promote sustainable consumption, and advocate for climate action through communication.

These principles are aligned perfectly with Airspeeder’s mission to promote a clean air mobility revolution through the creation of a sport built with sustainability as a fundamental principle.
