It was not a successful weekend for the Swiss Dominique Aegerter and the German Lukas Tulovic during the second MotoE race at Le Mans. After an arduous fight for the podium, Aegerter finished in fourth position, while Tulovic finished seventh, results that did not please the European riders.
“There is no way I can be satisfied with fourth place,” Aegerter stated after the competition. “At the beginning I made a good start and was in the leading group. After that, I divided the race well and always made sure I was well positioned. Everything went according to plan.”
“Even on the last lap everything was well prepared. Before I tried to attack because I definitely did not want to make the same mistake as in Jerez. But everything was decided on the last lap,” said the Swiss while reviewing the triumph of Brazilian Eric Granado.

On his battle with the winner at Le Mans, Aegerter explained: “Once Granado pushed me out and because I lost some speed from this action, Casadei slid inside. A few corners later I tried to attack him, but it was in a better flow. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.”
For the next races, Aegerter wants to carry out a different strategy, “so that in the end we will be stronger”. “However, we are absolutely among the favorites on the track and we can also count on our common experience. That will definitely help us in three weeks,” he stressed.
Tulovic’s frustration
Despite the fact that the German got his first points on the French circuit, he also expressed his disappointment with the final result obtained, since he had a great start in which he worked his way from twelfth to third place.
“In the race we showed again that we have the speed to fight for the podium. Only the starting position was very difficult and dangerous in the first laps. There were some crashes, but this time I was able to benefit from them and myself. Besides, we advanced to third position,” Tulovic stressed.
“Then I was behind Zaccone and Aegerter and I felt very good on the bike. In the middle of the turn I was super strong, but it was very difficult to pass them and on the last lap it was bad luck.”
“I tried to overtake Torres, I had to put the throttle back on and that was the end of the race. I’m disappointed to finish seventh after having really good speed here at Le Mans, but we will analyze everything and come back stronger in Barcelona,” he assured.
The MotoE season will resume on the weekend of June 5 and 6 in Barcelona, for the third Grand Prix of a fair that since its start has left good feelings.
