First E1 Series Race: Tom Brady Takes the Victory

A new history in sustainable motorsport was written in Jeddah on February 3 following the official debut of the E1 Series, which featured a victory for the racing team led by seven-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady.

Brady’s team demonstrated its dominance on the waters of Jeddah under the capable hands of Sam Coleman and Emma Kimiläinen. The pair, who both led a comeback to overtake the first day’s leading team, Team Miami, owned by singer-songwriter Marc Anthony, by a considerable margin of nearly 20 seconds and time of (6.58.51).

“We have already received a message from Tom and he is very happy with the win. Both Sam and I are incredibly proud to represent Tom and we are happy that we were able to make history in the inaugural E1 race,” says Kimiläinen.

E1 Series: The Debut

In the first World Championship of all-electric racing boats, eight teams battled under the Jeddah sun at speeds in excess of 50 knots (92 km/h/57 mph), captivating fans as the teams competed for the top podium.

Thus, the first season will continue in coastal cities with the next scheduled stop in Venice on May 11-12, while it will conclude in Hong Kong on November 9-10.

“Fantastic. Incredible. Amazing. What a weekend of powerboat racing with packed crowds and close competition between eight incredible racing teams,” comments Alejandro Agag, chairman and founder of the E1 Series.
